Leeds ITU Triathlon weekend

Standard distance 1500m swim x 36.2km cycle x 10km run - Heather Stokes 3:09.53. (PB) - Kirstie Oakley. 3:02.19 - Mark Patchett. 2:30.54 - Shaun Jasper. 2:14.40. (PB) - Terence Dunne 2:57.45 - Matt Hiscock. 2:28.37 - Diane Boros. 3:30.16 Sprint distance 750m swim x 18.9km cycle x 7.5km run - Monika Amor-Wilkes. 1:57.18 - Andrew Fletcher 2:08.35 Morning started mild and very misty at Roundhay Park which meant that some of the1500m swims were reduced to 750m due to visibility however it lifted and some were put back to 1500m. Mark, Shaun, Terry & Matt had reduced swims whilst Heather, Kirstie and Dianne did the full distance. The bike was very fast on the downhill with sharp bends and turns and the long climb back to the 2nd lap / finish was lined with spectators and locals cheering you on. The run left the park on the downward road back to the city centre where the streets were lined with thousands of people, music, drink and food stations. Think it'll be another weekend next year for people to come back. Awesome weekend, food, drinks and laughter. The elites races were electric, scores of people, tv cameras, plenty of sunshine and cheering. Another fantastic weekend! great times and achievements, you all smashed it 🐝🐝
